What is a photo DVD slideshow?A photo DVD slideshow is a great way to preserve and bring to life your precious memories. Your personalized slideshow can tell a story, or simply display your photographs. The basic idea of a slideshow is putting photos to music. But here, at Lasting Memories DVD, we go way further than the basic idea. Please visit our Samples Page to view some examples of our work.
How do I order my own photo DVD slideshow?
Please visit our Order Page. On this page, you can download and print out our order form. This is where you tell us exactly what you want (music chocies, ect...). The photos, music, order form and any other items to be included should be sent to the address on the form.
What does "Creation Fee" mean?
This fee is the minimum amount charged to make a DVD slideshow. This covers the following: Personalized Photo DVD Slideshow, Photo Scanning, Two Free Titles, BasicPhoto Editing (color fixes, red-eye), Personalized DVD Case, Disc and Menu. Complimentary Photo CD and Animated Effects.
What is the Main Menu?
The main menu is what first comes on the screen after you put the disc into the DVD player. You may add a photo and/or music to the main menu. The music will play until you start the slideshow. You may also choose to not have a main menu. This would mean that your slideshow would start automatically after putting it into the DVD player. If you wish to have no main menu, simply let us know.
Photos
Can I include other mementos in my slideshow, other than photographs?Yes. You may include any flat object that can be scanned (8x13 or less). Examples may include, but not limited to: ticket stubs, report cards, invitations, brochures, certificates, newspaper articles...
How and when will I get my photos back?
We will send all of your items back to you with your completed photo DVD slideshow. We take extra care in protecting your precious photographs while they are in our care. Most usually we will either use Overnight Shipping or 2-3 Day Shipping. Your package will be sent back to you using insurance and tracking.
Can I send my photos to you on a disc?
Yes. The standard method for sending Lasting Memories DVD your photos is sending the original photos through the mail. Yet, you are more than welcome to do the scanning yourself and send the files on a disc. We do recommend that the files be larger, giving us ample room to make adjustments.
Please make sure that your photos are numbered or listed in the order you wish for them to appear.
If you do choose to scan the photos yourself and send them to us by disc, we will take the price of $0.75 per photo down to only $0.50 per photo. This can be a real money saver!
Music
How do I choose the music for my slideshow?We recommend using music that holds meaning for the intended viewing audience. For instance, if you are having a slideshow made for your parents 50th Wedding Anniversary, you might try to think of songs that they loved when they were younger, or songs that they danced to at their wedding. If there are no particular songs that you wish to include, we have several instrumental pieces to choose from.
Shipping
How should I send my items to you?We recommend placing your photos into ziplock bags or envelopes. You could also bind them with rubber bands. We also recommend placing a piece of cardboard into your package or shipping your items in a box, to prevent any bending that may occur during the shipping process.
Can I get overnight shipping?
Yes. Please indicate if you would like to receive overnight shipping when you send you order. The cost will be figured into your total.
The slideshow is a gift for someone other than myself. Can I send it directly to the gift recipient?
Yes. Simply supply us with the correct shipping information. We are willing to accommodate most requests.
